1) I was friends with a dude with the same name in high school so the only thing that came to mind when I heard ‘John Creen’ was an Ivy-bound blond orchestra kid who bursted into my friends and my hotel room while slightly stoned, asking us if he thought that one of our choir/orchestra trip chaperones would believe him if he said he was peeing on the balcony after he was caught out of his room after curfew instead of smoking a joint. 

2. Looked him up and I honestly don’t know how he would have come across my radar? YA fiction and YouTube-wise.

With the exception of YA books my friends have recced me, academia/fanfiction/thesis books are all that I have time to read since 2008 (which is right when he started publishing and becoming well-known) and they’re all that I will read until graduation. And I only troll YouTube for acapella and Broadway cabaret clips.  And apparently John Green started the nerdfighter thing which I see a lot but don’t really get. 

3) Don’t let the door hit your ass on the way out!
